This book grew from the 2007 Holcim Forum for Sustainable Construction Urban Transformation at Tongji University in Shanghai. Over 250 architects, urban planners, engineers, scholars, politicians and business men and women from around the world met to discuss the challenges facing cities today. A key theme that emerged was the need to expand the discourse of urbanism. An important book for the future.
